Smaller subjects typically 1 to 3 inches (2.5 to 7.5cm) shot on macro settings or with macro equipment that are in MID WATER not touching anything (i.e. between 1:1 and 1:3)
I took this just after dusk in Banda Harbor. There were several Mandarin females "on the prowl" for mates. I chose one female and treid to keep her in the field of view of my D300's 105mm macro lens and was able to catch the moment.
"Reflection" Sargassum Frogfish at a very swelly surface which is why I have some motion blur around his fins!

Family affair
Lion fish. Lembeh straits. D200, 105mm.
A rainbow of color on this Parrotfish. It was just hanging there drifting back and forth on a little coral head. It did not seem to mind that I was there or that I was taking pictures.
I've only found red sea anemone in the Solomon Islands, it made a great background for the fish. D300 - 60mm
