This shot was taken in Cozumel in March 2009. As I drifted over the reef this little guy...a Juvenile Rock Beauty...was sitting there watching me. Fortunately the current was not very strong at the time and I was able to get this picture.

She is under the rather large anemone just hanging out. She kept peeking out to see if I was still there. Later, a juvenile false clown fish came out from behind her to see what was going on. It turned out, she was just protecting her young.

How close is close enough when you are laying next to a scorpion fish? This close.

Hermit crab...this little guy was scooting across the bottom. When he saw me and my camera, he stopped so I could get a couple of shots off. He then took off and was headed as fast as he could to somewhere.

This is a stoplight parrotfish that was cruising by. It is an interesting shot because he is coming out from behind the vegetation and going behind the rock leaving only his eye visible. Sometimes, timing is everything.

This picture was taken in Roatan. The nudibranch was tucked up on a little ledge under an overhang so the area was tight.

A little something in black and white.

The contrast of the background was just too cool. The Philippines is home to some really different looking nudibranchs.
A rainbow of color on this Parrotfish. It was just hanging there drifting back and forth on a little coral head. It did not seem to mind that I was there or that I was taking pictures.
Porcelain crabs are not that big. This little guy was sitting in his anemone having a great time...just fishin'. I love the look on his face. It looks like he is slurping up the plankton he is fishing for.
