Smaller subjects typically 1 to 3 inches (2.5 to 7.5cm) shot on macro settings or with macro equipment that are NOT MOVING usually on the bottom (i.e. between 1:1 and 1:3)
Seahorse was moving around a bit but opted for soft light, slow shutter & wide apeture looking for the blue background, Nikon D2x, 105mm lens, F18, 1/80th manual strobe light...TAR Park Sabah, Borneo
Phylangia colony ( sorry, I've found only the latin name for it ). From the diveplace "Canyon" ( left side of the wall at 12,1 meter depht ) in Kas/Antalya - Summer 2008. Thanks for looking at it :-)

Lettuce Leaf Slug
Hiding clown fish, taken on Canon 40D with 100mm macro lenses. Lembeh Straits
Parrot fish was just settling down for the night, and so not wanting to unduly disturb this sleepy fellow, I grabbed a quick shot and departed.
These common pipefish usually turn away when you get close enough to take a shot but this one was quite inquisitive smile Canon G10 + UCL 165

My strobe had flooded so I lit this with the focussing light I normally use to provide light for the compact camera to see properly.

Horozbina. A 5 cm small buddy, who is usually extremly "nervous" and therefore difficult to shoot. If you are looking close enough, there are even in the mediterranean nice motives to find ;-)

Flying gurnard.Nikon F100,105mm,f16,1/60,YS-120,RVP100.
I did some experimentation shooting shallow depth of field, available light, high ISO shots.This was taken of some coral that looked to me a bit like chopped mushrooms.
