I took this photo seconds after jumping off the boat in Honda Bay. The whale sharks in Honda bay can often be seen feeding at the surface and are relatively easy to approach. The small fish are not the prey species but often associated with them.
THE JETTY
While this momma humpback and her calf while remained motionless at 60' deep, I freedove to 60' deep to photograph them. It was amazing they didn't care about me!. I use a Subal Housing with a Nikon D70, a Tokina 10-17 and a 1/125, f/5.6 ISO 200

Pair of whale sharks feeding Honda Bay, Palawan. There were four others feeding with skipjack tuna on small shoaling fish less than a mile offshore.

Photo taken while free diving. All of the sudden a school of stingrays appeared and swam around for maybe ten minutes or so.

As the mate on the fishing boat swims with the sailfish to revive it after being caught, the angler swims up for a photo. Using this method, the fish is not harmed by being hauled into the boat for the photo and the angler has a unique experience.
