What splendid eyes these little gobies have! They hide in small crevices in rocks. They are shy but curious and it is easy to photograph them when they lean out to scrutinize the external environment. Havelock Is._April2024

"The Color Purple" - A blenny peers out of its textured coral home. Tentatively ID'd as a sailfin blenny.
"Storm Light #1" - My favorite kind of light. The clouds brought rain for a few minutes.
Gaudy clown crabs are very cool,i love the hunt for them and when i find a baby i stack to a +15 diopter. Friendly little guy he was
Just hanging out with a Grouper at the Oreo verde wreck!
Stingrays are a group of rays, which are cartilaginous fish related to sharks. They are classified in the suborder Myliobatoidei of the order Myliobatiformes and consist of eight families.
Lionfish on the tropical and colorful reef in the Caribbean! Did you know these fish have venomous spikes and are dangerous for divers and fishermen?
“Come Back...!”
A yellow-headed jawfish appears to look longingly after a diver as he disappears around the Kittiwake shipwreck. I was trying for a different angle on the wreck, and a shot with some fun! 🙂
"False Foe" - A pike blenny darts out at a perceived rival. Shot using a technique I'm developing :D
"Diorama"
A Caribbean reef shark cruises the deep wall. To me, this image is reminiscent of the engaging dioramas at the Museum Of Natural History.
"Bokeh Bouquet" - Colouful coral and sponges resemble flowers in this image of a goldentail eel. I used a shallow depth of field and Nauticam SMC to capture the bokeh.
This guy loved the camera he was not shy at all.i was on cumbers caves in little cayman over a year ago i had a fish eye on and a d300 behind it,little cayman is known for this type of behavior with the grouper there
"Golden Fluorescence" - I've been working on an article on daytime fluoresence. Sneak peek: A golden roughhead blenny, photographed with Nikon D500, Nauticam SMC, shallow-depth of field, and Nightsea fluorescence filters during the day! Woot!

"Ironshore Dreamscape" - No Photoshop. A stingray (lower left) kicks up sand as it sucks up food in the shallows. Photographed next to the ironshore as light rays penetrate.

"Suspended" - A Caribbean reef shark approaches. Photographed on the East End of Grand Cayman.
"Peeking Amphipod" - Look closely: an amphipod peeks over the edge of a hydroid. Framed against a sparkly homemade background I made. The background was held by my dive buddy, no sea life was touched.
This mantis shrimp was very friendly,he was not shy at all
Enlarge to see detail: I used a remote strobe to light up this scene inside the galley of the Kittiwake shipwreck. I wanted to add some depth to the shot, so used a tiny bit of strobe to illuminate the rusted table in the foreground.
"Evening Romance"
Two hamlets in a spawning clutch on Grand Cayman.

Something different: special technique circular shot with Tokina 10-17mm and cropped sensor! Colorful feather duster worms and fire coral in front of the wheelhouse of the Doc Polson shipwreck.

"Buzzing The Tower" - A giant loggerhead in flight. I swam hard to catch up to this beauty and get this shot.
“Smokestack Silhouette” - A diver is framed within the smokestack on the Kittiwake shipwreck.
Grand Cayman - The compass on the Kittiwake, which is level to the seabed, shows just how much the Kittiwake is lying on its side. Model: Alice Gostick

Gentle Sway
Divers explore "Orange Canyon", a dive site named for its gorgeous, bright orange elephant ear sponges. I dialed up the shutter speed a bit to make the blue a darker shade, in order to provide more contrast against the orange.
A large wave pounds Northwest Point in Grand Cayman.
Midnight Parrotfish in the caverns of Snapper Hole in Grand Cayman.
