Chromodoris naiki_2023
(Canon60, 1/200,f18,iso200)
Small fish have bright colors and flamboyant shape that attract experienced & novice divers alike. Unless it moves.. it can be difficult to distinguish them from the context around, as seen in this photo! Goa_India_2023

Most dorids nudis have a smooth, thick mantle and their silhouette is broad and flat.
Dorids also sport an exposed cluster of gills on their backs, visible here on this beautiful Chromodoris photographed in Goa_2023

The best place to find nudis is in current, as pinnacles or wrecks..or diving with expert n.hunters! For these two I have to thank the friend Aaron of West Coast who, despite the bad vis, made this shot possible_Goa_2023
(Canon100,1/250,f20,iso200)
Deep red color for this Flabellina walking on the algae of the Goa wreck, the only existing wreck here but full of life, especially nudibranchs! Goa _2023
(Canon100,1/200,f22,iso250)
Many nudibranchs display the bright colours to suggest to predators that they are toxic. This is a technique used also by the Flabellinidae family. In this photo we see two of them found on a wreck a few meters deep_2023

Chromodoris trimarginata_2023

Capturing with macro lens reveals so many tiny reef cratures as this beautiful Chromodoris tricolor nudibranch photographed during wreck diving at Goa_India_2023
(Canon60,1/200,f18,iso200)
Photograph nudis in these parts of Arabic Sea is a bit more challenging than elsewhere given the poor visibility.
But when you succeed, beautiful colors come out as for this Phidiana m. shotted at the wreck dive site_Goa

Close up an old piece of string a few meters deep, covered by algae and other organisms including these two Flabellina nudibranchs that have captured my attention for their bright color.

My strobes illuminated this Flabellina well, perhaps too much .. but I like the same for the luminescence effect that makes the colors brighter ! Taken in Goa_2023
Close up of a Chromodoris trimarginata nudibranch, common in shallow sandy, rocky or rubble environments of the Indian-Arabian Sea. This photo was taken at the Wreck dive site in Goa_India_2023

There is a diving place here in Goa called "the wreck", an iron barge sunk here in the 50s. Here there are many nudibranchs of this type named "Flabellina rubrolineata" ..very small, about a centimeter or so, but beautiful for their bright colors.
