1/250 at f8 with Tokina 10-17. This shot at 10mm and as I looked up I saw the diver swimming back to the boat and waited for him to go through the sun ball.
1/80 at f14 on 105mm
I am used to diving the Asia Pacific region where anemones are very common, but in The Caribbean they are not so common so I shot this with a black background and was delighted with the colours the strobes brought out.

Usually these French Angel Fish are very skittish but after ten minutes or so they got used to me and as they were really interested in eating a sponge they kept coming back to me. I settled down for a long wait and finally was rewarded.

I have been working on my CFWA, especially the lighting and the blues.

45 minutes of lying in the sand in one 3 foot section of reef and I finally got this shot. I thought my subject was pretty patient too....

I'm always looking for unusual shapes and angles and this solitary sponge on the pinnacle at Babylon really attracted me.
1/250 @f9
Shot on a workshop in Grand Cayman. I was sitting at the bottom of a cave shooting straight up.
1/160 @f8
I ran this through Photomatrix to create an HDR from one Raw image. Then ran it through Lucis to create this effect.

I really used a shallow depth of field here to accentuate the teeth. It's amazing how they have a row of teeth in the roof of the mouth. Wouldn't want to be a fish stuck in there!
1/250 @ f14
Tough to get a shot of these guys feeding but when they do I think it looks spectacular. Like little fishermen casting their nets. Shot with two strobes, next time I'm going to try side lighting to give some more depth.
1/125 @ f5 shot with 105mm
One of my shots from my first liveaboard trip with a camera. There were a lot of cuttlefish on this trip and I especially like the colours on this shot.
1/50 @f5.6
I love Mantas. This shot was taken whilst snorkeling with them at Helengeli Thila. I made it B&W as I think Mantas lend themselves beautifully to this and it also helps get rid of some of the cloudiness of the water.

Helengeli Thila is clearly the place for manta shots
1/125 @ f25
I'd love to tell you I planned this shot but I got lucky. However you make your own luck and I sat in front of this ribbon eels hole for ages just shooting as it came into focus. Bit of vignette added in Lightroom and a boost to levels.

1/125 @ f9.
This is one of the first photographs where I planned the shot before taking it. I side lit the rhinopias with TTL on one strobe and set the other strobe to 1/8 and put it above the subject.
1/250 @ f7.1
I played a game of hide and seek to get this shot. It's a blow to the ego to be outsmarted so many times by an animal smaller than your hand.
Great White Shark in Neptune Islands, South Australia.
1/125 at f4. 12-24mm at 24mm. ISO 320.
Nikon D200 in Ikelite housing with natural light.
Shots taken 3. Change of wetsuit required 1.
