Air Force Tower

United States  Atlantic (North American coastal)
This is a metal structure that was part of an Air Force navigational system. The top of the structre is at 20 feet (7 meters) with a depth of 100 feet (30 meters). The site can be subject to strong currents and visibility can range from near zero to 50 feet (15 meters). Fish life moves in and out of the area and may include cloud-obscuring shoals of menhaden and cigar minnows, groupers, snappers, spadefish, flounder, Goliath groupers, barracuda, turtles, blue angelfish, damselfish, and makeral. The top of the structure is home to at least three types of blennies - Molly Miller, seaweed, and tessalated. This area has even been visited by a whale shark.

Near Zadar, in the middle of Croatian coast.

   Croatia  Adriatic Sea
It is not possible to dive there, it is under the fish farm, great expirience, a lot of marine life, fishes, dolphins are the dearist guests, hunting and jumping arround. This image was taken below 45meters, on top of the unike stone where lived approx. 50 scorpionfishes of this kind, one on the top of another, in only 3-4 square meters. For 4 years, they were there all the times, I realy hope they are still there...

Rivtow Lion

   Canada  Pacific
Really cool wreck of a tugboat sitting upright. Bottoms out at 90 ft and you can see under the hull of the ship into a large octopus den. Continue down the length of the ship to see the propellor and rudder.

Perch Island, South Wall

   Antarctica  Antarctic (Southern Ocean)
A steep rock wall with large ledges dropping to unexplored depths. Heavily ice-scoured above 20M, this site is nonetheless one of the best spots in the area to look for large current-feeding species like Promachocrinus and large sea cucumbers. Water temperature is usually around 28-30F (-2 to -1C) in December and January.

Grass Island North Wall

South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands  Antarctic (Southern Ocean)
One of my favorite dive sites at South Georgia. A vertical rock wall drops to over 25M, sheltered by Macrocystis kelp and heavily encrusted with sponges and bryozoans. A great place to look for nudibranchs and pycnogonids. Water temperature is usually around 33-35F (0.5-1.5C) in November and February.

Gashamna, West Point

Svalbard and Jan Mayen Islands  Arctic
This site is outside the westernmost sill in Hornsund, so it often has decent visibility and hosts a marine community more typical of the outer coast of western Spitsbergen than the fjord waters to the east. A steep shelving rock wall, mostly covered in a dense growth of Laminaria hyperborea, drops to a coarse sandy bottom at about 80 feet. Water temperature typically about 35F (2C) in July and August. Often a great site for zooplankton like pteropods, ctenophores and larvaceans.

Wreck of the Kolkhosnik

   Canada  Atlantic (North American coastal)
Lost in 1942 the Kolkhosnik was carrying war supplies destined for the port of Archangel. The official cause of the sinking is "U-boat activity" however, it is locally believed that the vessel struck Smithson Rock. The vessel was commercially salvaged for its cargo of nickel ingots, a few of which remain scattered around the wreck site. The other pieces of cargo such as tanks, barb wire, telephone cable and jeep parts had no value and were simply tossed aside by salvors. The wreck is one of the most popular among the local wreck/technical divers in Halifax. The depth (from 130 to 150 feet), water temperature and tidal conditions can make this a demanding dive. Careful planning and plan adherence are required.
