What splendid eyes these little gobies have They hide in small crevices in rocks. They are shy but curious and it is easy to photograph them when they lean out to scrutinize the external environment. Havelock Is._April2024

Shallow sandy area with lots of small soft corals in a depth of 12 to 14 metres. Usually little to no current. The area is a nursery for small fish and the soft corals are home to numerous small crabs, so there is lots of macro life. Sea Temp in May 29c

This tiny (15mm) Porcelain Crab (Porcellanella sp.) is commensal with soft corals. Usually they hide inside the soft coral so you normally only get to see a part of it. Luckily, I found this one on the outside trying to catch some passing food.
