Taken at Dyer Island, South Africa, which is Great White Shark territory. Because of the thousands of seals around, it was difficult getting a shot of just one by itself.

I had just a fraction of a second to pull my hands, holding the camera, back into the cage before this cutie was almost in my face. This is one of those moments in which I miss a motor winder in my Nikonos V. Dyer island, Gansbaai, South Africa.

DOLPHINS at Dolphin Reef, Red Sea. I was snorkling when this group came swimming in my direction just a few metres below me. I had just a few seconds to compose my shot. They were so fast, any attempt to go after them would have been futile.

The smoothness and grace with which these mantas glide through the water leaves you with a real sense of awe and admiration for these magnificent creatures. This was taken on an eight day dive safari in the Maldives.

Ghiannis D. Sha'ab Abu Nuhas, Red Sea. A very photogenic wreck from all sorts of angles, but it was the clear water that enabled me to get the whole thing.
