Memories
Hunter & prey at Devil's Grotto
some weeks ago the dive sit and grottoes were severely damaged by a container ship grounded on the reef. Hoping the coral can be saved and the site restored for future visits of the silvery schools of fish!
"Enlightening Experiences"
Magical moments experiencing nature.
Tarpon in the Sun - we were diving Macabuca or Turtle Reef in Grand Cayman. I waited under the out-cropping to get a pic of the tarpon. Edited color to show how I envisioned he would look as the sun set over West Bay.
"Incoming"
A large Hawksbill Turtle swims through the blue.
"Crunch and Munch"
A massive Loggerhead enjoying some lunch.
"Sun Shimmer"
Shallow water searching outside of Smith's cove. Natural light on a single breath.
Golden Rough-head Blenny
Faithful French Angelfish
Sea Art A free swimming crinoid is resting on a sea fan. We were not able to dive Bloody Bay Wall for the first part of trip to Little Cayman - but still had great dives - Love the textures and colors in this shot. Oly OMD-EM1.
LadyBug Taken in Little Cayman - this solitary hydroid appears to have a ladybug dancing above it. Oly 60mm with +5 dipoter, OMD EM-1.

"Turtle Gaze"
Sometimes you can see an animals curiosity during an encounter.
"See You Soon"
Though we must come up for air, we also know we can reenter the blue world as many times as we want.
"Turtle Youth"
A very small Green Sea Turtle swimming and looking for turtle grass just off Seven Mile Beach.
"Brief Blue Moments"
Getting images of Turtles on or near the surface takes respect. You respect the animal and earn its trust and in turn it will be reciprocated with awesome encounters and images to save the memory.

The ex-USS Kittiwake is seen in an over-under photograph as rays of sunlight penetrate the sea.
Floating Leaf - Cemetery Beach
The kittiwake
"Golden Portrait II"
I angled my strobes to light just the face. I used a high shutter speed to keep the water blue and provide contrast to the yellow. A shallow depth of field kept focus on just the face and eyes. No filters or Photoshop.
"Dinner Bell"
Loggerhead chowing down. An incredible experience sitting inches away from this guy for about 20 minutes while he finished off his meal.

'Following The Leader' - Horse eye jacks swim over the stern of the Kittiwake off the coast of Grand Cayman
"Starfish And Water Droplet"
Starfish over-under photograph. Look closely: a drop of water is frozen as it bounces off the surface of the water!
No Photoshop.

"Levels"
The Kittiwake, a playground for divers and fish alike.
Dive In - a brightly clad diver takes a giant stride in to join fellow photographers in Little Cayman.
"Morning Commute"
Diving the Kittiwake first thing in the morning is always a treat. Beat the crowds, the Jacks are cruising and the light is beautiful.
Gaudy clown crab on top of a vase sponge
We were in a photo class in the midst of a tropical depression and unable to dive the Bloody Bay Wall in Little Cayman - so we shot macro on the south side. Was lucky neough to find this solitary hydroid on the end of a coral!
