United Kingdom Atlantic (European coastal)The Persier 50.16.96, 03,58.03
330 ft (30m) 5,382 tons torpedoed in 1945 by U-1017. This wreck is broken but parts sit up to 10m proud of the shale seabed at 31M.
The hull has collapsed but u=you can enter the engine room and the holds. Lots to see including the three boilers, 8ft anchor, prop shaft tunnel and other 'ship-shaped' bits (the three guns & prop have been salvaged). Lots of life again, pollack and sea fans especially.

United Kingdom Atlantic (European coastal)HMS Scylla
(23m) 400ft Frigate sunk as an artificial reef. A Frigate, whole and upright on the bottom!! This wreck is a wreck-divers paradise. A great dive whether you want to just swim around the outside, explore all four deck levels, or do a wreck penetration course.
Marine life is taking a good hold and varies considerably at different times of the year. Expect pout, pollack, wrasse, congers and even trigger fish

United Kingdom Atlantic (European coastal)James Egan Layne is (22m to scour) 417ft 10,000 tonnes liberty ship torpedoed by U1195 in 1945. Sitting upright in a sandy bottom, with no superstructure remaining and the stern broken off resting a short distance to the south. You can do an easy penetration all the way through, or swim down either side, then at the break swim to the stern.
You can enter No1 and 2 holds and swim into No3. The upper deck and the engine room have gone. Two lifeboats can be found 20M from the stern.
This is the South Coast's classic wreck dive with so much to see of either the ship itself, the cargo or the life (red & grey mullet, a huge residential shoal of horse mackerel near the bow, bass, pollack, wrasse, congers, pout, pipefish, John Dory, whiting, ling, crabs, lobsters.
I even saw my first Sunfish on this wreck!).
Easy to find - there's usually other boats hooked into it. Or head for the buoy and you'll find it, or use the satnav 50.19.47 04.14.61

Cayman islands Caribbean SeaA great shore dive operated by Divetech in Grand Cayman. Mini wall ranging to 60 feet jsut minutes off shore offers a large variety of sponges, gorgonians, corals and reef fish inlcuding a tarpon cavern. The deep wall is accesible from shore (starting at 60 feet and dropping into the abyss) - about a 10 minute surface swim. All ameneties needed are onsite including setup benches, shade, Restaurant, retail shop, showers and restroom facilities, rental equipment. Great marco opportunities in the shallows are afforded. Rebreathers welcomed. Open 7 days a week from 7am to 5pm.

Egypt Red SeaMore than a Jeep safari - Real Technical Cave Diving!
20 kilometer south of Nuweiba, located in the National park Ras Abu Galum, you will find the famous drop off " Ras Mamlach".
We planned a dive into one of the cracks in the reef - the cave of Ras Mamlach, more than 100 meters deep.
Mission of the dive was to arrive at "the windows" - some openings at 65 m in the outer reef wall, leading to the blue water of the drop off...
Caution - many old rotten and tangel remains of guidelines!
No continuous guidline! Be prepared for gap!

SwedenA small and very nice Swedish lake with alot of marinlife and good visibility (compered to other sites in Sweden).
Swedish freshwaterfish: Gadda(pike), Abborre(perch), Mort(roach) and Krafta(crayfish).
A long canoe trail goes through this lake, it starts in Akersstyckebruk and ends in the town of Trosa, so be caerful when you surface and look up as they are nearly soundless.
+ Easy entry and exit as the road goes just besides the lake. Good camping ground.
- Far from Diveshops and compressor nearest is aprox. 80km away in Stockholm, the capitol of Sweden.

Brazil Atlantic (South)Situated in the Região dos Lagos, the city is famous among the scuba divers and those who love the sea. White sand beaches and crystal clear waters are an invitation to relax.
Arraial is strategically located near to Cabo Frio and the sophistication of Búzios. All this intense night life is close to the charming comfortable pousadas of Arraial.
Distance (approximately): 180km from Rio de Janeiro. 15min from Cabo Frio and 30min from Búzios.
How to arrive:
Bus: regular lines leave the Terminal Rodoviário Novo Rio (bus station)
Car: use the Via Lagos highway until Cabo Frio, then take the proper exit to Arraial do Cabo.
More than 40 dive points scattered around the small bay formed by the continent and the Cabo Frio Island. The map above indicates just a few of these points.
Depths can vary from 12m to more than 50m in some spots.
During the dives you will be able to observe turtles, moray eels, large schools of fish, sea horses, rays, octopus and much more.
For the experienced diver we offer the chance to explore underwater caves, historical shipwrecks and submersed canyons.
The rocky bottom is covered by rigid and soft corals, sponges of many different shapes and colors.

East Timor Banda SeaLocation: 42.0KM East of Dili. Enter the area enclosed by a wall. The entrance is rocky and care should be taken when entering with a vehicle with low clrarance.
Entry : One can enter the water at the small gazebo-like structure in the enclosure. The first few meters is rocky leading to sandy bottom and then on to coral structures.
UW profile : To the West the coral is more of an expansive coral cover with small outcroppings whereas to the East, the area is characterized by larger coral outcroppings in a more sandy area.
Points of interest: Alternating small walls and sandy slopes. Resident Napoleon wrasse to the East of the entry.
Topside : Nice shady area with big trees and gazebo. The area is often frequented by people from the local village who are interested in watching divers.

Bermuda Sargasso SeaThe largest wreck in Bermuda, at originally 500ft long, the wreckage is spread over close to 1000ft. It was a luxury liner from Spain, which ran aground in 1936. There were no fatalities, at least at the time of the wreck. The entire crew (all 160+) were believed to be sympathisers to the Cuban (or Puerto Rican, can't remember which) revolution, and were all executed on their return to Spain.
Very photogenic site, starting from the stern, where the prop shafts and propellers are still visible. There's a lot of fish life, (including a lion fish, seen on my last dive, and a moray eel that lives in the bow), and coral is doing very well colonising the wreck itself. There are other wrecks nearby, caused by the original wreck - the Colon was seen sitting in the water, and other captains assumed it was a safe passage...

Croatia Adriatic SeaFrancesca di Rimini is a wreck from the second world war. It was used as an amunition transporter and sunk through to torpedo shots.
It lays between 39 to 54 mtr.

Guam Philippine SeaThis wreck is along the breakwater 4 miles from the USO and is a great wreck training dive from shore or boat.
It's an old barge sunk in the 1960's when the breakwater was buiilt and is covered in coral growth,
On shore there is parking and an obvious entry. Follow the cables underwater to 50 feet then swim out.
The wheelhouse is on the stern and there are plenty of open entry points. As with all wrecks, watch the silt and never take your reg out in an air pocket.

United Kingdom North SeaIs this is the ultimate UK shore dive?
Drive to the end of Eyemouth caravan park, kit up, and go down the steps. You enter in a sheltered gully but can get some surge.
The gully is a dive in itself but usually you turn right along a wall with plumose anemones, dead mans fingers. Of you're lucky you might see wolf eels, if you're unlucky you'll still see more marine life than anywhere else in the UK!
If you are energetic and the sea is calm you can swim all the way around the headland and get out in the next bay but plan it, don't just decide on speck. Many experienced divers have got into trouble when the sea blows up. If you use the gully you can get in and out in any conditions.

Spain Mediterranean SeaL’Estarti can be overcrowded, cattle boat diving at peak times so avoid holidays and weekends in high season. Dutch, Belgian, German, and French divers have already discovered L’Estarti and flock from their inland cities at holidays and weekends.
The marine reserve takes 280 divers per hour at peak periods with the various dive operations having allotted slots on specified sites and times – a bit like a landing slot at Heathrow. However, the system works. The multitudinous Gorgonia are not kicked to bits as you might expect, though they are more profuse and pristine at greater depths.

Israel Red SeaNot actually caves (well a small one) but what aussies call a 'bommy'
There are a couple of coral outcrops 200 yards offshore with masses of marine life. Hard and soft corals, stonefish, shoals of Anthias.
Some say Stingray City Cayman is the World's best 10 foot dive. They haven't dived here! This site has won more photo contests for more underwater photographers than any site in the Red Sea. It is the u/w photographers ideal studio. Shallow (so you can stay down a long time) easy access and everything typical of the Red Sea (color, life etc.)

Italy Tyrrhenian SeaWe dived with Diving Nettuno
website and stayed on their campsite. The view from our window was stupendous! It's a small site and, like many in Italy, has its own beach. There's nothing regimented, no marked pitches, and the owner (Mauro) zips around on his scooter like a demented Marx brother! At peak holiday times it gets crowded but you all squeeze in. Everyone's friendly.

Portugal AtlanticGreat diversity of macro subjects, especially nudibranchs and other opistobranchs (a.k.a. sea slugs).
Large wreck in poor conditions provides good subjects for wide angle. Due to the very poor visibility (with exceptions) it's very rare to be able to use wide angle lenses with effective results.
Only a couple of dive centers in the vicinity 3km away.

United States AtlanticThe Odonga is a 275' freighter that sunk in 1918.
Typically of harbor wrecks she was blown up as a hazard to shipping but there is still loads of recognizable wreckage including plenty of hull

United Kingdom Irish SeaDon't be put off by all the local industrial plants. This bay is a corker and pretty sheltered in most blows.
I dived this with a club squidgey boat. I can't remember the name of the wreck but it was the easiest wreck I've ever found and only 3M at the top. Next to a buioy I think.
Second dive was a drift over a flat seabed. Everyone else though it was crap but if you looked close it was gopping with macro life
