Last year I posted a jawfish with eggs that were about to hatch. This is the same jawfish shot a few days earlier just after the eggs were laid. From Little Cayman Island. Nikon D200 with 105mm lens.

During daytime silversides hide in caverns, swim-throughs, grottos and wrecks. As dawn settles the predators follow them.

I found this beautiful giant anemone on a shallow reef. It's a particularly gorgeous specimen for Grand Cayman. I waited for a diver to be in the right position, then clicked the shutter.

"Reef Art" - No Photoshop. Photographed using a slow shutter speed while sweeping across the reef. I used the surge to push me along.

"Submariner" - Yellow spnges frame an imposing barracuda. I was going for a strong graphic image, so dialed up the shutter speed for contrast and to increase the silhouette of the barracuda and ledge it was under.

"Mesmerizing"
Not a photo in the water, but rather, of the water. The crystal clear Cayman water I call home. Where I dive and explore and photograph magical things. It laps at the shore, calling me in. The water here is mesmerizing.

"Like a Hawk"
No wonder we call them Hawksbill Turtles. Just before I took this image the Turtle was sprawled out over a sponge digging his sharp beak into it. Soon he used his front two fins to push himself upward while letting his beak tear off...

We've seen more and more curious moray eels as we dive Grand Cayman - likely seeking an easy meal of a lionfish from a diver. This guy swam around us checking us out and then settled into a small swim-thru to watch us as we finished our dive.
