Seahorse. Almost the entire night dive was spent looking for turtles when this little guy darted out between two fronds before latching on. Fuji s2 60mm/dual strobes-Photoshop-hue/saturation and converted to sepia.

Anacapa Island, CA. Harbor seals dove up and down the lanes of kelp while we photographed them, chewing on our flippers when they got close enough. I waited for a pair to come down between the rows when this one popped up from below. 60mm lens.

Moorea, French Polynesia. Blacktip sharks surrounded us just outside the wave break. We counted 30 in the photos after the dive. This is inside the circle, looking out at the divers before the lemon sharks cruised in. 18mm dual flash.

Tunnels, Kauai. Another view of the resident white tip reef shark in the cleaning station of endemic Hawaiian cleaner wrasse, Labroides phthirophagus. Shot crawling into the cave at the drop off just west of the entrance to Tunnels (the pine lane).

Barracuda off a private MOTU by Moorea, French Polynesia. After lunch on the island, we spotted this guy floating in the lagoon. We had been shooting sharks and rays, so I had the 18mm and had to get close with no fins or weights. Big and toothy.

Anacapa Island, CA. Harbor seals lined the kelp for each of the four December dives, and this one kept a wary eye on us from behind. I like how portrait-like his expression is, even a bit sad...it adds to the distance of the 3/4 shot.

Tunnels, Kauai. I heard there's a resident white tip and poked in every cave until I found him with an endemic hawaiian cleaner wrasse, Labroides phthirophagus. Aircraft-like framing on just the tail was the point of the shot.
