Brian MayesStarted U/W photography in 1994 with a Nikonos V as means to identify what I had seen U/W. First digital camera, Nikon Coolpix 990, Ikelite housing and Video Lite. My favourite dive destination is Bonaire, especially Klein Bonaire. My favourite dive site, is Lucky Bay in Western Australia, a fantastic shore dive, with Kangaroos on the beach and Sea Dragons underwater. I'm currently using a compact Canon G9 with Canon housing and only the internal flash. More photos at www.flickr.com/photos/brianmayes/sets/My Website

Leigh ChapmanTime to update. Thumbnail shot remains first even taken in Indonesia 2004 with Canon A-95. I currently have a Nikon D200, Sea & Sea housing and strobes. My fairly recent trip back to Indonesia is the second time I've used it and the first time I've shot total manual and using only one of two strobes. Had to. iTTl flooded first day; (unseen) screw was loose and caused a strobe to fall off on second day in a muck dive. (If someone finds a screw somewhere in Lembeh...) I won't bore you with all the other malfunctions -this time, it wasn't my fault, I swear - but am writing this to say that I was petrified to attempt manual shooting but now consider it a blessing in disguise that the iTTL went bye-bye...and to encourage other "newbies" to continue shooting as long as the shutter works.United StatesUnited States

Allan VandefordMy wife and I live in Avon, Colorado - just seven miles from Vail. We began diving in 2001 when faced with a trip to Tahiti and just couldn't imagine going there without experiencing the underwater scene. Our first open water dive at Tapu presented us with three Lemon Sharks and numerous Black Tipped Reefs. On our second dive we met our first sea turtle and three Manta Rays. Needless to say we were hooked. Now as we edge close on 1,000 dives each we are being drawn ever farther from home. After many trips to the Caribbean, Hawaii, Fiji, the Solomon Islands and most recently to Indonesia we are now being drawn toward less frequently visited areas. Our next trip is planned to Raja Ampat later this year. Today Mary films using a Sony HC7 in a Light & Motion housing while I shoot stills with a Canon 5D in an Aquarice housing with Inon strobes.United StatesUnited States

marjan radovicMarjan Radovic, professional photographer, scuba diving and underwater photography instructor with several associations, like Scuba Schools International – SSI, NAUI and Professional Scuba School – PSS. Combining passion for photography and diving, in 2000 he enters the realm of underwater photography, wanting to show the beauty of underwater world to everyone. While most photographers specialize in underwater life and scenery, Marjan tries to show a different and unique view of sea and swimming pool ambience, models and divers, coral and fish, caves and wrecks. Mesmerized by the beauty of the underwater world, he travelled beyond the Adriatic Sea, diving into the Atlantic Ocean several times and capturing its beauty, as well as the Caribbean and the Red Sea. Marjan is always looking for new and original ways for exhibiting his photos. He had 80 individual and around 100 group exhibitions. Marjan’s photos were published in all Croatian magazines about the sea, like More, Aqualung, ...My Website

Michael SalcitoNew Underwater Photographer, Nikonos V - SB105 strobes, 20mm,15mm lens. I prefer to shoot deep wrecks, 100-150 ft with natural light. This is not so easy, as you get about 8 min at 140 ft, and after a 1- hr blow off about 6 -7 min on the second dive. so you only have about 14 min on 2 dives to get a decent shot. Water on these deep wrecks is usually turbid, 70-80 ft of vis is a great day, with 40-50 being the norm. I prefer the Nikonos for this task as it is so small compared to a housed system. I can put the Nikonos in my BC vest pocket if photo ops are scarce and enjoy my dive, with out lugging a housed setup. I have a Nikon D-200, but can*t afford a housing yet. I use it for top side nature photos. I plan to get a housing setup in approx. 6 more months. But I will keep the Nikonos, as I love the small size, and now you can have the pics scanned, and share on the net.United StatesUnited States
