a lovely atmospheric shot
Master of the Forest. A Black Sea Bass (Giant Sea Bass) emerges from the kelp Forest at Anacapa Island. An old capture from 2004 using my Nikonos V and 15mm lens in natural light. Shot at f/4 and 1/60 seconds.
Surfacing Seal. A harbor seal dances in the clear, shallow waters at Anacapa Island. An old image from 2002, shot with a Nikonos V and 15mm lens. Shot at f/4 and 1/125 seconds.
On the Kelp. A kelp snail cruises across a stalk of kelp. An old image from 2000, taken with a Nikonos V, SB105 strobe, 35mm w/ 1:3 close up using f/22 and 1/125 second. Shot at Anacapa Island.

California Diving at its best.
The kelp forests of Anacapa Island abound with life from the tiniest nudibranchs to the largest marine mammals. I shot this image diving a spot known as "The Channels" while looking for harbor seals.
