Beyond sheer technical considerations, style and originality are all important. Everyone has their own tricks, whether they realize it or not. It may be that seeing other peoples work stimulates ideas. Copying may be the sincerest form of flattery and is productive to begin with. However, it is a pointless exercise long term. It is much better that we concentrate on the thought processes involved in the creation of the shots than in reproducing the shots themselves.
