Types of Light Measurement

U/W Photo Course

Learn u/w photography the easy way!

There are two ways light meters measure light...

  • reflected light from the subject
  • incident light falling on the subject
Incident light readings, whilst the more accurate, must be taken at the subject so universally cameras measure reflected light.
