Blend Modes hide menu

As if it weren’t enough to get your head around the concept of layers there is a whole new level of complexity in how layers interact and combine called layer blends.

Layer blends are another Photoshop secret weapon, which is hidden in plain sight.

The Blend Modes menu appears at the top of the Layers Panel and also pops up when you select a new layer. It is on the Effects Dialog (and several other places) yet it is largely ignored, most designers leaving it at the default normal setting.
