The automatic scan feature searches for break points between recorded segments on the source tape and uses them as the IN and OUT points to create an IN/OUT list.
Since the IN and OUT points can be modified later, scanning automatically is an easy and convenient way of creating an IN/OUT list.
- Click the [] on the Mode Selector List and select [IMPORT-Auto].
- Click [SCAN].
DVgate Motion starts scanning.
When DVgate Motion reaches the end of the tape (or the beginning when scanning backward) it stops automatically.
Note
DVgate Motion displays the current position as an OUT point (or an IN point when scanning backward) and stops the scan when one of the following conditions occur:
- You click [Stop] in the scanning dialog box (in this case, DVgate Motion stops tape playback as well).
- You press the stop button on the DV device or if there is a change in the DV device settings
- DVgate Motion finds the 1000th IN/OUT point.
Note
During the scan, the IN/OUT list is not accessible for manipulation.
Hint
- You can use the size grip to change the Monitor Window size to the size you want.
- You can change the view of the list from the [View] menu of the IN/OUT List Window. Selecting [Thumbnail] shows only the images and selecting [Thumbnail and Time Code] shows both the images and time codes. Selecting [Time Code] shows only the time codes.
