Menu Bar

[File] Menu


  • [Open...]
    Opens saved Assemble lists.
    Select the saved Assemble list in the [Open] dialog box and click [Open], and the contents of that file are shown in the DVgate Assemble Window.

    Hint

    If you try to open another Assemble list after making changes to the current Assemble list without saving the changes, the contents of the file you are opening will be displayed at the bottom of the active file's list.

  • [Save...]
    Saves an Assemble list.
    Specify the name you want to save the Assemble list as in the [Save As] dialog box.

    Hint

    The Assemble list contains the time codes and images of the BEGIN and END points.

  • [Add...]
    Choosing this menu item opens a dialog box for specifying the source AVIs or still image files to be spliced. Select an AVI or still image file and click [Open]. The file is added to the Assemble list in the DVgate Assemble Main Window. The images or time codes of the first and last frame of the file, the file size, and the file name are shown.

    Hint

    • Choosing [Add...] from the [File] menu is equivalent to clicking the [ADD] button.
    • You can add an AVI or still image file by dragging its icon into the DVgate Assemble Window from Explorer.
    • - The types of files that can be imported are video clips in AVI files only, and still shots in BMP, JPEG and GIF files.

  • [Preview]
    Opens the Preview Window and Monitor Window for previewing a selected file in the Assemble list.

    Hint

    Choosing [Preview] from the [File] menu is equivalent to clicking the [PREVIEW] button.

  • [Output...]
    Splices the selected AVIs or still image files in the Assemble list and saves the resulting video as a DV CODEC AVI file.
    The [Save As] dialog box appears, where you can specify the name of the file.

    Hint

    • Choosing [Output] from the [File] menu is equivalent to clicking the [OUTPUT] button.
    • Once the file exceeds the specified duration or file size configured in the [Output Settings] dialog box, it will be split up into sub-files according to that setting.
    • You can splice AVI files of different sound types together, but the sound type of the resultant AVI file is set to that which is specified in the [Output Settings] dialog box.
    • The segments corresponding to still image files have no sound.

  • [Page Setup...]
    Opens the [Page Setup] dialog box where you can make settings related to printing, such as paper size, print orientation, and page margins.

  • [Print...]
    Prints the contents of the Assemble list. To start printing click [OK] in the "Print" dialog box.

  • [Exit]
    Exits DVgate Assemble.


[Edit] Menu

  • [Undo]
    Cancels the preceding operation.

  • [Cut]
    Copies the information of the selected AVI or still image file into the clipboard.
    The selected file is removed from the list.

  • [Copy]
    Copies the information of the selected AVI or still image file.

  • [Insert]
    Inserts the contents of the previous [Cut] or [Copy] command at the cursor position.

  • [Delete]
    Deletes the selected AVI or still image file from the list.

  • [Select All]
    Selects all AVIs or still image files in the list.

  • [Edit a clip...]
    Allows you to edit an AVI file for output or to set the duration a still image file should last on screen.

[Settings] Menu

  • [Output...]
    Sets the file format for output and the mode of dividing the file if it exceeds the specified duration or file size configured in the [Output Settings] dialog box.

[View] Menu

This menu is used to change the view of the Assemble list.
  • [Thumbnail and Time Code]
    Shows both images and time codes.

  • [Thumbnail]
    Shows images only.

  • [Time Code]
    Shows time codes only.

[Help] Menu

  • [Help...]
    Opens online help.

  • [About DVgate Assemble...]
    Shows the version number of DVgate Assemble.
